Years of my life were spent hating my body

I look back now thinking I wasted so much time and energy (not to mention all the amazing food I didn't eat!) hating and resenting my body. 

"Why couldn't I be naturally skinny?" | "Why did I have to have bad skin?" | "Why is my tummy so big?!" 

Even after I lost 20kg I asked myself these questions. I still resented the fact that I had to exercise and restrict my diet to stay at my goal weight. So many days of endless calorie counting (and encouraging my clients to do the same). Always feeling guilty when eating chocolate, ice cream, or yummy cheeses! 

What Changed?

I got sick... really sick. I developed hypothyroidism (which if you don't know, slows your entire body down. This extreme exhaustion, weight gain, brain fog - all fun stuff!) and I gained weight. I was even more miserable than before. I couldn't exercise, and I couldn't calorie count because that just made me feel worse. I was left wondering "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO, I'M SO FAT!!" (ps. I was about the same size as the above bikini pic... eye roll emoji)

When I started to feel a little better, I worked with a nutritionist. We did 1300 calories a day, no gluten or dairy & 3 strength sessions a week + pilates for 4 months. A lot right?! Well... I gained weight! 

I WAS DONE!

What the hell was the point when I went to ALL that effort and I gained weight. So I shifted. I had to find a way to love, nurture & move my body without doing it out of hate and guilt - AND I DID!!!! I learnt, I shifted my tactics with my current clients & created Body Love, all so those of you who are SO DONE can shift too.
